Drying the carpet fast is the most important step in the flood damaged carpet restoration process. A1 restoration can extract water using modern truck-mounted extraction equipment that can extract the most amount of water FAST. We use carpet claw to extract water from the underlay to dry the carpet fast and to prevent secondary damage to the subfloor.

Wet carpets can lead to secondary damage in the property and may cause mould and other structural issues in the house. Our technicians hold IICRC accreditation in carpet cleaning and can clean and remove most stains from the carpet.

We are a 24/7 service and can attend to most properties for extraction within 60 minutes for emergency water removal services. All our vehicles are fitted with electrical or petrol-powered extraction equipment with all required drying equipment to dry properties effectively.

We also clean and restore all types of rugs. We can pack and remove rugs from the property and dry them in our climate-controlled rug laundry.

Our other services include water damaged carpet cleaning, property drying and restoration, content restoration, mould remediation and carpet cleaning services.

Moisture testing is the most important process for effective drying and restoration. Moisture assessment is part of every water damage restoration and mould remediation job, it allows the restoration company to identify all wet materials. Our moisture detection includes the following.

  • Surface moisture assessment
  • Air moisture / Humidity assessment
  • Thermal imaging to identify wet materials.
  • Surface and air temperature assessment
  • Dew point assessment
Thermal imaging is used on all water damage claims to identify wet surfaces, that may not be visible otherwise. It also allows us to effectively extract water and dry surfaces.

A thorough moisture assessment allows us to choose suitable drying equipment for the job and monitor the progress of the drying project. We can also install remote environment monitors on regional area jobs, to monitor the drying environment remotely.

All our technicians are fully qualified to carry out detailed moisture assessments and can advise on the drying requirements of different building and structural materials.

We attend all our drying projects regularly to check the drying process and to make any required adjustments. All progressive moisture assessment results are explained and included in the final job report.

We offer free initial moisture assessment and quote for water damage claims, feel free to reach out to us by email or phone.

Structural drying is required on most water damage jobs after the removal of surface water and moisture. After immediate extraction and drying of surface water, the most important aspect of drying jobs is to dry structures to their pre-loss condition.

Structural drying includes drying of walls, ceilings, timber frames, subfloors and other structural materials to pre-loss conditions. If the building structure is not dried properly, it will lead to mould growth and other structural integrity issues in the property.

A1 restoration uses state of art low grain refrigerant dehumidifiers along with heat drying equipment to dry building structures fast and effectively. We monitor all our jobs regularly by carrying out moisture assessments for all building materials to check on the progress of drying.

The cost of replacement of some building structures can be a lot, especially for timber subfloors and expensive tiled floorings. It is therefore very important to ensure all structures all dried and disinfected properly to prevent any further damage and mould growth.

Depending on the structure requiring drying, our qualified technicians may use any of the following equipment.

  • LGR Dehumidifiers
  • Air movers (radial, snail and axials)
  • Air cleaners/ air scrubbers
  • Heat drying equipment.
  • Temporary containments
Many property managers and homeowners across Adelaide trust A1 restoration for their ability to dry properties to pre-loss condition. We are a local South Australian Company based in the north side of Adelaide. Please call our friendly team for a free quote.

Water damage left unattended or high moisture content in building materials can lead to mould growth on the building structures. Mould remediation includes the physical removal of mould from the property, which included the removal of the non-restorable building and content materials.

Following are some of the steps of the mould remediation work.

  • Install containment to separate all unaffected areas from mould-affected areas.
  • Maintain containment under negative air pressure.
  • HEPA vacuum to remove mould spores from surfaces.
  • Cut and remove all non-restorable flooring and building materials.
  • Thoroughly Clean all restorable surfaces using anti-microbial chemicals.
  • Install drying and air-purifying equipment to dry structures and remove mould spores from the air.
  • Monitor drying regularly and repeat cleaning as necessary.
  • Organise post-remediation testing with IEP (recommended)
  • Remove containment after receiving clearance from IEP
We can also provide mould-make-safe services to control the spread of mould while waiting for full restoration services. Mould make-safe is a relatively quicker process and does not involve cutting and removing building structures. The aim of make-safe is to control the mould spread and reduce the concentration of the contamination till the full mould remediation is carried out.

We are trained and qualified by Australian Cleaning and Restoration Academy to clean and restore mould-affected properties. We are equipped with all required equipment including industrial air purifiers, LGR dehumidifiers and air movers to quickly restore mould-affected properties.

All clearance testings are carried out by indoor air quality professionals external to A1 restoration.
