Drying the carpet fast is the most important step in the flood damaged carpet restoration process. A1 restoration can extract water using modern truck-mounted extraction equipment that can extract the most amount of water FAST. We use carpet claw to extract water from the underlay to dry the carpet fast and to prevent secondary damage to the subfloor. Wet carpets can lead to secondary damage in the property and may cause mould and other structural issues in the house. Our technicians hold IICRC accreditation in carpet cleaning and can clean and remove most stains from the carpet.

Structural drying is required on most water damage jobs after the removal of surface water and moisture. After immediate extraction and drying of surface water, the most important aspect of drying jobs is to dry structures to their pre-loss condition. Structural drying includes drying of walls, ceilings, timber frames, subfloors and other structural materials to pre-loss conditions. If the building structure is not dried properly, it will lead to mould growth and other structural integrity issues in the property.
A1 restoration uses state of art low grain refrigerant dehumidifiers along with heat drying equipment to dry building structures fast and effectively. We monitor all our jobs regularly by carrying out moisture assessments for all building materials to check on the progress of drying.
The cost of replacement of some building structures can be a lot, especially for timber subfloors and expensive tiled floorings. It is therefore very important to ensure all structures all dried and disinfected properly to prevent any further damage and mould growth.

Water damage left unattended or high moisture content in building materials can lead to mould growth on the building structures. Mould remediation includes the physical removal of mould from the property, which included the removal of the non-restorable building and content materials. Following are some of the steps of the mould remediation work.
- Install containment to separate all unaffected areas from mould-affected areas.
- Maintain containment under negative air pressure.
- HEPA vacuum to remove mould spores from surfaces.
- Cut and remove all non-restorable flooring and building materials.
- Thoroughly Clean all restorable surfaces using anti-microbial chemicals.
- Install drying and air-purifying equipment to dry structures and remove mould spores from the air.
- Monitor drying regularly and repeat cleaning as necessary.
- Organise post-remediation testing with IEP (recommended)
- Remove containment after receiving clearance from IEP
